KESSLER: Mary Louise Kessler went to her Lord and Saviour on December 22, 2009. Mary was born on February 10, 1945 and was raised in Wawota, Saskatchewan. She was the second child born to Edna and Louis Westphal. WhenMary was eighteen, she married and later had three children, Michael, Garry, and Kim. Mary was in her forty's when she left Saskatchewan and joined her two sisters in Manitoba. Mary worked a variety of jobs including seamstress, clerk, cleaner, and housekeeper. Mary's true loves were gardening and homemaking. When Mary lived in the East end of Brandon, many would stop and admire her flower beds. Mary moved to Kin Village where she continued her love of gardening by planting pots and working in the flower beds. Mary was very involved in her church and there she met many lifetime friends. Mary faced her illness with courage and held firm to her belief that she had more to look forward to after her death. Mary was predeceased by: her parents Louis and Edna Westphal, her beloved oldest son Michael, a brother Joe and wife Bonnie; brother-in-law Rick Gates and numerous aunts and uncles. Mary leaves to mourn her passing: her daughter Kim and husband Jeff Clark; son Garry Kessler; daughter-in-law Cammy Kessler. There are four grandchildren; Parker, Rena, Mandy and Jodi and one great grandchild Taylor. A brother Clarence and wife Carol Westphal, a sister Anne and husband Lutz Mattfeld and sister Colleen Gates also survive. She also leaves to mourn two nephews Brett and Jeff and two nieces Kelly and Melissa, as well as many dear family and friends. The Funeral Service to Celebrate Mary's life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 107 Queens Avenue East on December 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Mary's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
