CLEARWATER:Andrew. Andy passed away peacefully on December 31, 2009 at the Souris Personal Care Home. He was born November 26, 1916 in Roseisle, Manitoba where he attended school. In 1934 Andy moved to Roland, Manitoba and worked for Hawleys Butcher Shop until 1941. While living in Roland he met Sadie Burnett and they were married on October 21, 1939. In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served until 1945. Andy and Sadie moved to Elgin, Manitoba in 1946 where he worked for MacDonalds Red and White store. In 1954 they purchased the business and operated it until 1977. On retirement he worked for Manitoba Crop Insurance for ten years. In 1999 Andy and Sadie moved to Souris. Andy was predeceased by his wife Sadie in 2001 and his son Craig in 2000. He will be fondly remembered by his sons: Brent and Clint (Linda) and five grandchildren: Corrie, Janna, Daniel, Monica, Kelly and seven great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Cram and the staff at the Souris Personal Care Home for their compassionate and professional care. They would also like to thank the staff at Kowalchuks Funeral Home. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Kowalchuks Funeral Home, Souris, with a private interment in the Elgin Cemetery.
