CASSAN: Rodney Roy. It is with utmost sorrow that we announce the passing ofour beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Rodney Roy Cassan cherished husband of Jean Valcourt Cassan. On January 3rd, 2010 at the age of 56 years Rod died at home, with his loving family by his side. Rod was born on January 16th, 1953 second child and only son of Roy and Lois Cassan. Rod was first and foremost a family man, patient, loving and supportive. He was a dedicated farmer and a born outdoorsman. He particularly enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. His strength, heart, wit and humor defined him. Rod played the guitar, sang and displayed his artistic talent by sketching and through his past work at Cassan Monumental. Rod graduated from Brandon University in 1974 and continued his work at the monument shop for many years while farming. Rod was predeceased by his parents Roy and Lois. Rod will greatly be missed by his children: Tim (Nova), Amy (Renato), Sean Dandy, Karla-Rae Dandy (Erik Wenger), and grandchildren: Liliana, Francesco and Vincenzo Giordani. Rod is survived by his sisters Robin Bradshaw (Wayne), Jody Paterson (Hamish), Jill Paddock- Dahlstrom (J.D.), Lorraine Johnson (Gord), Beryl Pharoah (Mark). Rod is also survived by his uncle Glen Joice (Karen). Rod will always be remembered for his patient guidance and support and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside Service will be held at Alexander Cemetery Wednesday January 13th, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Joe Ball officiating. The Cassan family invites you to share memories and refreshments at the Whitehead Community Hall in Alexander following the graveside service. Casual dress preferred.
