EDWARDS: George Robert Edwards was born April 2nd, 1922 in Brandon, Manitoba to parents Alfred & Alice Edwards. George was the oldest of five siblings; Sister Dorothy Thornton (Jack), Brother Jack (Mary), Sister Muriel Guild (Jim), and Brother Ernest (Bernice). George died on January 12th, 2010 at the North Peace Care Center in Fort St. John, British Columbia. George went to school in Powerville, Manitoba where he also worked on the family farm for several years. Due to allergies he had to leave farming. Following farming he went to Mechanical Engineering School in Winnipeg. Completing this he worked for Brandon Automobile for a number of years followed by Murray Chev. Olds for 25 years. George was reliable and well thought of. He went back to help in the garage after retiring. George leaves to mourn his loving wife Ruth of 12 years, step sons Larry Garnett (Kathy), and Jack Garnett (Lory), step grandchildren Jason, Cody, Leigh Ann, Kaylyn, Ashten, and Scott as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
