MOORE: The death of Melvin Frederick Moore, beloved husband of Audrey of Brandon occurred January 9, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Mel was born May 10, 1931 at Margaret, Manitoba, son of Fred and Irene Moore. Mel was the second oldest son of seven children. Mel is survived by his wife Audrey, son Donald (Valerie), grandchildren Dustin and Amber and great granddaughter Charity; son Bob (Adéle), grandchildren Adam and Megan. He is also survived by his oldest brother Robert (Jean), Reston, Manitoba; sisters, Evelyn (Maurice) Bertholet, Lauder, Manitoba and Phyllis (Dave) Poets, Brandon, Manitoba; three sister-in-laws Fern (Ken) Gill, Doreen (Keith) Blight and Carole (Harvey) Jackson, all from Brandon. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Irene Moore, brother Murray, sisters Velma Stasila and Shirley Gullett as well as mother and father-in-law Wes and Laura Jones. Mel was a very active young man – he loved to fish, hunt, trap and he loved farming. He and Audrey farmed for many years until he started his own business Mel’s Appliance Service and worked at it for 38 years until retiring. Mel andAudrey spent many weekends travelling to Minot. Those trips will be missed. Mel will be sadly missed by his wife Audrey, and sons Don and Bob. A Ceremony to Celebrate Mel’s Life was held at Memories Chapel, Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Orton Anderson officiated. Interment followed in Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Melvin to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 0V9 or to a charity of choice.
