BESSANT: Florence Mae Bessant passed away peacefully at the Fairview Nursing Home at the age of 90 on March 9, 2010. She was born at Abermule, England. North Wales in a house called Castle Daniel in 1919. She came over to Canada April 27, 1928 with her parents when she was 9 years old on a ship to Halifax. When arriving in Canada they travelled by train to Winnipeg and then on to Virden, from there they went by wagon to Willen, Manitoba. Mom was raised on a farm and when she was older she married Albert Bessant and she continued to help out on the farm, while cooking and cleaning after six children. Left to mourn are her six children. Son Jim (Linda). Daughters: Kathleen (Ben) Ruth Glass, Linda (Greg), Carol (Good Friend Wayne), Betty (Jim). Sisters-in-law: Mabel Massey and Joyce Jones. Nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service and celebration of Mae’s life will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer society or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
