SCOTT: Robert Allan Scott. The family of Robert Allan Scott is saddened to announce the passing of our father and grandfather on March 3, 2010 at the age of 94. Bob was born on September 24, 1915 on the family farm near Hayfield to Charles and Jean (Mitchell) Scott. Bob was the youngest of three children. His brother Ken was the oldest and his sister Marjorie was next. Bob attended the one room school at Hebron. He loved sports and played baseball and hockey with the Hayfield clubs. On November 7, 1942, Bob married Martha Cameron of Boissevain. Bob and Martha had two sons, Bill and Craig. Bob farmed all of his life raising beef cattle and grain and he always had a team of horses around. He was very proud when the family farm received the Centennial Farm award in 1995. On his 85th birthday, he went next door to neighbour Larry & Donna Robbins for one last horseback ride. They were good to oblige him and take a photo of that moment. No one was more proud than Bob sitting tall on that horse. Martha passed away in 1986 and Bob remained farming with his son Bill until 2001. That year, Bob moved to the Victoria Park Lodge in Souris where he enjoyed playing cards and bingo and visiting with friends. He greatly enjoyed his eight years there, especially the great meals and the friendly staff. In August 2009, Bob thought it was time to move to the Souris Personal Care Home so he moved again. He liked all the attention he got there and the extra care he got from their staff. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, his wife Martha, his brother Ken (Noreen) and sister Madge (Maurice) Kirk and Marthas brothers Doug Cameron and Jack Cameron and her sister Isabel and their spouses. Also pre- deceasing Bob were his nephews, Ron and Garry Cameron and his great-nephew Jeff Kirk. Bob is survived by his sons Bill (Cindy) Scott and Craig (Shirley) and Craigs two boys, Andrew and Mathew. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families- all of whom have their own special memories of him. Bob is also lovingly remembered by Lori Hickson and Donna Scott. The ceremony to celebrate Bobs life was held at St. Pauls United Church in Souris on March 6, 2010. Donations, if so desired, can be made to the Souris Personal Care Home Sun Room Fund, c/o A.R.H.A. Box 10, Souris, MB. R0K 2C0 or to a charity of your choice. Kowalchuks Funeral Home, Souris, in care of arrangements. Expression of sympathy may be made at dkowalchuk@mts.net
