LEGG: Albert (Bert) Legg of Brandon, Manitoba passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the age of 65 years. Bert gave us all a scare last June when he had serious medical issues that resulted in him spending over three months at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. We are all thankful for being able to have the last nine months with him in our lives. Bert was born on May 17, 1944 in the Brandon Hills area. Bert spent his youth on the family farm until the family moved into Brandon. He met and married Elizabeth Pastershank on October 5, 1963. They spent 42 years together until her passing on April 30, 2006. Bert had several jobs over the years. Some of the ones he most enjoyed were as a salesman for Silverwood Dairies, semi driver for Arnold Brothers, and various positions at Zenith Paving. In fact, Bert was looking forward to returning to his job at Zenith this May. When not working, Bert liked to fish, both summer and winter, boating and snowmobiling. He also travelled many miles into Ontario to visit family and enjoyed going for his weekly "coffee date" with his brother Doug. Bert will be sadly missed by his four children; Sharon Russell (Martin Sharpe) of Brandon, Pernell Legg (Jennifer) of Brandon, Brigette Legg (Shawn) of Hornepayne, Ontario and Tammy Turner (Bob) of Brandon. Grandpa Bert will be missed by his grandchildren Kelci, Jeffery, Raya, Kaden and Ella. Bert is also mourned by his siblings, Marge Legg, Georgina Legg, Doug Legg and their families. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Memories Chapel and Pre-Planning Centre, 330-18th Street North. Jeanette Van Heyst will officiate. Private family interment will be at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bert may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
