HALLAND: Clarice Barbara Halland formerly of Portage la Prairie, MB passed away peacefully on March 30, 2010 at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence, parents John and Florence Johnson, brother Walter Johnson, sister Delta Cameron, mother and father- in-law Ella and Knute Halland, brother-in-law Becky Fraser, sister-in-law Viola Donovan and niece Kristine Jacobson. She is survived by her daughter Barb (Dave) Landry of Kelowna, B.C., grandson Michael (Christine) of Winnipeg, great grandson Troy, grandson Cory (Richelle) of Calgary. Also brothers and sisters John (Verna) Johnson, Wynne (Bob) Goudie, Lil Fraser, Cliff (Ida) Johnson, sister-in-law Lorraine (Jim) Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews. Clarice was born in Birtle, Manitoba. Her father was employed with the railroad so in her early years they moved to many different towns. Clarice met Clarence in Maryfield, Saskatchewan and they were married there in 1943. With Clarence being in the military they made their home in various postings through out Canada and Europe. Clarice moved many times through out her life but no matter where she was, she always enjoyed curling and many out door activities. Clarice and Clarence retired to Portage la Prairie in 1971. They enjoyed camping together in the summers and spent winters in Barbados. In 1991 they made their final move to Minnedosa, Manitoba where they again settled into the community. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Minnedosa Cemetery, Minnedosa, Manitoba. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Minnedosa Legion Club Room.
