CASLICK: Dorothy Joyce (Ferris) Caslick. It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of ‘Dorothy’ Joyce Caslick of Red Deer, Alberta on April 14th, 2010. Dorothy was born in Holland, Manitoba on November 9th, 1925 and was the second youngest from a family of thirteen. Dorothy met her husband at a poultry judging contest and was later married in a double church ceremony with her younger sister Elsie and her husband Sandy on June 3rd, 1950. After a brief honeymoon in Pine Falls they resided on the family farm in Glenboro until they took up residence in Red Deer in 1978. Dorothy was active with the Stockton United Church and the ladies aide, as well enjoyed curling. Dorothy was very talented and loved to dance, sing, play the piano and even the accordion. Even until her passing Dorothy loved to play the piano. She is survived by her son Ray (Mary) of Onoway and his children Rae-Lynne (Faron) Coupland, Jennifer Caslick of Wetaskiwin; son Ron (Jody) of Brandon; daughter Judy (Kevin) of Mill Bay and their son John; son Glenn of Portage la Prairie; daughter-in-law Noreen of Fort St. John and her children, Camille and Krista. Dorothy also had two great grand-daughters Ashley Coupland and Ella Hayward. Dorothy is survived by two sisters Elsie Murray and Ellen Rutherford. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Alvin (2000), son Greg (2007) and grandson Brant (2009). As well as several of her brothers and sisters and their spouses. A graveside service will be held at a later date at her final resting place in Glenboro, Manitoba.
