LITSTER: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances (Cherniski) Litster, beloved widow of the late Roy C. Litster, on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Frances was born in Brandon on September 10, 1922 to parents John and Mary Cherniski and lived her entire life here. She married her husband Roy on April 10, 1947. From this union two children were born, Linda Lou 1948 and Charles Roy (Chuck) 1952. Frances worked all her adult life, retiring from the Brandon University in 1987. She was lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. She was also a long time dedicated member of Naomi Rebekah Lodge #6. She also volunteered for many other organizations. Frances was predeceased by her parents, husband Roy 1981, son Charles (Chuck) 2006, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughter Linda (Ed) Homeniek, Edmonton, Alberta, grandsons Edward and Mathew of Edmonton, Alberta, granddaughter Beverley (Malcolm) of St. Catherines, Ontario, sister- in-law Kay Cherniski, Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Mona Franklin officiating. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were Reg Olenick, James Rogers, Ed Homeniek, Eddie Homeniek, Mathew Homeniek and Marc Maisonneuve. Flowers are gratefully declined.
