DOUPE: Harold Hartwell Doupe. On Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Victoria General Hospital, Harold Hartwell Doupe, aged 90, passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Harold is survived by his daughter Marilyn Clausen, granddaughter Rikke (Andy) Pineau and their children Barrett and Alexis; daughter Joan Suski (Richard Lamontagne), grand- daughter Kristen Kovacs (Wayne Smith) and their children Brendon and Spencer; sister Margaret (Dave) Heise; sisters- in-law, Vel Doupe and Noraleen Doupe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce, and special friend Yvette, as well as his brothers Ben (and his wife Audrey), Ron and Stan. He was born March 11, 1920 to Hartwell and Gladys at the family homestead in Crandall, Manitoba, leaving home at 16 to pursue a career in aviation. He served with the Navy during the Second World War, later working as an aircraft mechanic in Sioux Lookout, Winnipeg and Brandon, ultimately ending his career as an Aircraft Accident Investigator with the Department of Transport based in Winnipeg. During his retirement he and Joyce loved their winters in Texas and their summers travelling with their trailer, camping and visiting friends and family. He was a devoted family man and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg on Thursday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
