BAKER: Brian A. Baker, aged 60 years, passed away suddenly April 14, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Brian was born and raised in Brandon.He was employed in various endeavors, some of which included construction and livestock handling. Brian finished his career with the City of Brandon, where he was employed for over 25 years, retiring in 2005. Brian's interests were varied. One of his proudest achievements was helping to set up a Neighborhood Watch program in his area. He enjoyed country music, hunting, fishing and boating. He was a fabulous baker and cook and was quick to share his "creations" with family, friends and neighbors. Brian's greatest pleasure was camping, most recently at Rivers Lake, and he thoroughly enjoyed all that nature had to offer. He especially enjoyed these activities when family and friends participated. For those who really knew Brian, he was a loving and caring family man and friend with a heart of gold. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Brian is survived by his loving family: partner Corky (Coraliene) Mullen, daughter Bev (Guy) Dubois, granddaughter Shandi (Mitch) Dubois Taylor and great granddaughter Madison Dubois Taylor; his brothers Don (Roxy) and Cliff (Elaine); his sister Verl (Maurice) Arnold and sister-in-law Helen. He is also survived by one aunt and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews to whom he was affectionately known as "Uncle Bake", and his beloved dog Buddy; also by Corky's brothers Gordon (Renate) Williams and Ivan (Verna) Williams and families. Brian was predeceased by his parents Frank and Norma, his brother Barry and his sister Beverly. He will be sadly missed and forever loved by all. The Memorial Reception was held Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 at Memories Chapel. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery, officiated by Mona Franklin.
