CHRISTIE: Gladys Annie Hermoine (Milnes) passed away Friday, March 26th in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 95. Hermoine was born October 31, 1914 in Brandon Manitoba to Gladys and Charles Milnes. She married James Christie in 1935. After a brief stay in Greece, they moved to Souris in 1936 where they opened The Chocolate Shop which they worked together for over 30 years. Hermoine was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, an ACW and altar guild member in St. Lukes Anglican Church and an active member of the Souris Fellowship Club. After 73 years of living and loving life in Souris, Hermoine began a new chapter of her life when she moved to Oyama BC to live with her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Ron Janz. There she spent her time with many visiting family members, enjoying the gardens, playing cards and cheering on the Canadian athletes during the Olympics. She is survived by her daughters Joan (Ron) Janz and Donna Minions, grandchildren Jim (Deb) Janz, Bob (Janice) Janz, Joni (Gary) Fey, Mike (Anne-Marie Holmwood) Minions, Stephen (Lesa) Minions, David (Ruth) Minions, Peter (Tara) Minions and Leslie (Ian Shooter) Minions, great-grandchildren Taryn (Kirsten) Janz, Tyler Fey, Elizabeth, Nikolas (Alyssa), Alex, Genevieve, Adrian, Sarah, Patricia, Christina, Carmanah, Calvin Minions, Willa Holmwood and great-great grandson, Dmitri Minions. She is also survived by her brothers Ross & Ken Milnes, her niece Elaine (Randy) Phillips and nephews Ken (Mailodys) and Tim (Joan) Kohut. Hermoine was predeceased by her husband James, sisters Joan Kohut and Eileen Cowie, brothers Herbert and Bill Milnes, nephew Glenn Kohut and her son-in-law James Minions. The Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at St. Lukes Anglican Church, Souris, Manitoba. Interment will take place in the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery followed by a luncheon at St. Paul's United Church Auditorium.
