GOLDING: The death of Barbara Joan Golding beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Barbara was born, raised and received her education in Melville, SK. After graduating from high school she moved to Winnipeg in 1951 where she was employed by the Bank of Montreal. Barbara met Pat in 1955 and they were married in April of 1959. They moved to Brandon where she lived her life and raised her children. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. Barbara always did everything with sincere caring and love. Barbara enjoyed gardening and often shared her delicious vegetables with neighbors and friends. She loved music and would frequently be heard humming or singing along with the music on the radio. Barbara and Pat enjoyed square dancing and belonged to many square dancing and round dancing clubs. Barbara spent time travelling and camping all over Canada and the U.S.A. with family. She was a sports enthusiast following curling and tennis on TV and was a tennis champion herself in high school. The Brandon Wheat Kings wereher favorite hockey team, she was an avid fan and season ticket holder for numerous years. Barbara is survived by her husband Pat; children Joan, Patrick "Rick" (Bonnie Barron), Leanne (Clayton) Guest, and Tammy; and her twin sister Margaret Harris. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren Patrick Golding, Brianna Golding, Duran Guest and Wade Guest; sister-in-law Lorraine Harris, brothers- in-law Victor (Sharron) Golding and Brian (Joyce) Golding, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Maureen Golding; parents J. Harry and Marjorie Harris and brother Ken Harris. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew's Cathedral, 403 - 13th Street on Saturday, May 29, 2010 (today) at 11:00 a.m. Rt. Rev. James Njegovan and Venerable Paul Curtis will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Urn bearer will be son Patrick "Rick" Golding. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Barbara to Diocese of Brandon (Anglican Church), Box 21009, West End Post Office, Brandon, Manitoba, R7B 3W8 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 4B, 457 - 9th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 1K2.
