BLACK: Debra Sarah Black (Fidler) passed away suddenly on May 28, 2010. Debbie was born April 11, 1955 in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Joyce and Earl Fidler. It was in high school in Dauphin that Debbie met Dennis Black, a country boy who would become one of the few to be allowed to call her Debra. The two rode the bus to school together, Dennis was best friends with Debbies brother Fred. Dennis was all country, wearing western shirts with frills. Debbie was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. The high school sweethearts were married on June 7, 1975. Dennis and Debbie had two children, Candace and Shane. Debbie loved her children. She danced with them, rocked them to sleep singing Puff the Magic Dragon, and spoiled them. Debbies children grew up and provided her with nine grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Grandma Debbie baked with them, talked on the phone to them, read stories, danced with them and spoiled them too. She was very proud of her family. Debbie supported her family, while Dennis worked at Simplot. She worked for many years at Reesors Jewelry and provided childcare for a group of kids known as Debbies six pack. She loved all kids and was always willing to give a second chance. She also did coursework for accounting and bookkeeping through college. She enjoyed baking and canning, and always loved her gardening and flowers. She was great with hospitality, very outgoing, played a bit of golf, had many friends and always enjoyed a good chat. When Dennis wanted to move out of the city Debbie went along with the idea and the country bug bit her, soon after their move to Oak Lake. Debbie grew to love their patch of paradise and worked hard with Dennis to work on the yard, build a sunroom, take care of some cows, chickens and horses. She truly loved the country life and enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer. Debbie leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her husband of 35 years, Dennis Black, her daughter Candace Tolton and husband Sean of Kenton, along with their children, Brooke, Hanna, Foster and Peyton; her son Shane Black and wife Allana of Brandon, and children, Dayton, Kyra, Danica, Kipling, and Beckett. Also left to mourn, her mother Joyce Fidler and her siblings Fred, Dalton, and Gail Fidler. She was predeceased by her father Earl Fidler. A celebration of Debbies life was held on June 2, 2010 at Oak Lake United Church, Oak Lake, Manitoba, and was officiated by Reverend Craig Miller.
