DUNCAN: James Lloyd, born August 11, 1927 in Deleau, Manitoba and passed away quietly, July 13, 2010 at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta with family members at his side. Lloyd was raised in Deleau, Manitoba where he lived, worked and later owned the family farm. He married Cecile Vandermeulen in 1953 and together they had four children. In 1968 they moved to Agassiz, B.C. where they owned and operated a family restaurant/motel as well as working at the Agassiz Legion. Lloyd, Cecile and three boys later moved to Calgary, Alberta where he worked in the oil patch and did security. After retiring he enjoyed his summers camping in Souris, Manitoba. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cecile, daughter Bonnie (Brian Woods), sons Doug (Sally), Darren and Dean (Kathy) as well a three grandsons Kevin, Bill and Dillon. A celebration of Lloyds life was held on July 20, 2010 at the Riverside Cemetery, Hartney, Manitoba. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Souris Hospital c/o A.R.H.A.
