AHO: The children of Olga Aho sadly announce the passing of their Mother on July 20, 2010 at the Brandon Palliative Care Centre, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her six children - Linda Smerch (Larry), Audrhea Lande (Lori Johnson), Debbie Luke (Bernie), Jim Aho, Ginny Aho (Loren Gudbjartsson), and Sandra Procyshyn (Wesley), brother Steve Levinski (Alida), sister Jeanne Turner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Edward Aho in June, 1975. Mom took great joy in her 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed time spent with her Rorketon, Winnipegosis, and Brandon friends playing cards, picking berries, making pickles and telling jokes. Mom was born in Winnipeg, September 28, 1926. She loved school and became a teacher for a short time before marrying Edward Aho in Rorketon in 1948. She urged her children to go to school, do your homework, and get ahead and was proud of all our achievements. Life was sometimes a struggle for Mom but she loved life nevertheless. She loved the outdoors, her garden and farming, foretold the weather from the sky, amused us with her antics and jokes and left us with a million stories and memories. She took great pride in feeding her family, producing an endless supply of cabbage rolls, perogies and chicken soup. Sometimes these arrived on the Greyhound bus, signed With Love from Mom. Cremation has taken place and a family farewell will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send a donation in Moms name to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation Palliative Care Ward A3. 150 McTavish Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
