BRIDGEMAN: Thomas Fredrick Bridgeman, December 29, 1927 September 18, 2010. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Fredrick Bridgeman. Tom was born on December 29, 1927 in Brandon, Manitoba and was raised with his 14 siblings on the family farm in Bradwardine, Manitoba. On November 12, 1949 Tom was united in marriage to Jean Griffiths in Oak River, Manitoba. Soon after marriage, Tom and Jean started a family. Tom had many great accomplishments in life, his family of four sons was his greatest; Ron (Sandi), Garry (Grace), Brian (Lottie) and Cameron (Louise). As years past, the size of his family grew. Tom was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Dana (Pat), Heather (James), Scott, Jodi (Jason), Chad (Crystal), Russell (Jessica), Susan, Donald and Christy. His life was blessed yet again as he was proudly declared a great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren: Piper, Blaire, Myla, Dexton and Kohen. Tom is also survived by his siblings; Joy Bomford, Inez McKenzie, Jack(Bonnie) Bridgeman, Maurice(Irene) Bridgeman and Olive(Gerry) Pelletier. Tom was predeceased by his wife Jean Bridgeman, his parents Harry and Margery Bridgeman, his granddaughter Jodi Bridgeman-Forbes and his siblings Hazel Bridgeman, Don Bridgeman, Barrie Bridgeman, Ted Bridgeman, Jim Bridgeman, Myrtle Bomford, Glen Bridgeman, Mildred Goodman, and Muriel Briggs. Tom and Jean work side by side to develop and build a successful and prosperous farm in Oak River, Manitoba. Tom took pride in being the first to seed in the spring and the first to combine in the fall. Upon retirement in 1987, Tom and Jean moved to British Columbia. While in B.C., the life of golf and fishing occupied their time when they were not on the road visiting family and friends. The need to be closer to family had Tom and Jean once again settle in Oak River, Manitoba in 1993. Toms current residence was in Brandon, Manitoba. Brandon served as the perfect central location for family get-togethers and the ideal day trip in the car to visit children and grandchildren in Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. A celebration of life to honour the memory of Tom will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Campbells Funeral Chapel in Hamiota, MB, with internment to follow at the Oak River Cementary. A luncheon will be served at the Oak River Memorial Rink following internment, and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ollie and Gerry Pelletier. Messages of condolence to the family can be sent to Campbellfuneralhome.ca Campbell Funeral Home, Hamiota in care of arrangements 866-620-2744.
