SMITH, W. Murray. October 23, 1930 – October 1, 2010. Murray’s journey in this world ended peacefully on October 1, 2010 at Agapé Hospice after a two-year tussle with cancer.  He was just shy of his 80th birthday.  Murray leaves seven children/stepchildren: Jodee, Marla, Blake, Cathie, Paul, Guyle, and Tara; six grandchildren, one sister (Elizabeth Phillips), a brother (Jack), and a host of friends who will long tell stories about the master story-teller that he was.  At Murray’s request, there will be a Private Family Memorial and Celebration of his life on October 23, 2010 followed by an Open House Gathering at Evan J. Strong Commemorative Services (5502-2nd Street SW / one block east of Macleod Trail on 53rd Avenue SW), from 1:30 to 3:30 pm with Tributes at 2:30 pm.  All are welcome. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Murray’s site at www.commemorativeservices.ca In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agapé Hospice (1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8) - in Murray’s words … “A Wonderful Place”.  Arrangements in care of Evan J.
