KILLE: The death of Mabel Jeanette Kille (nee Blythe) occurred on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Valleyview Care Home. Formerly of Rapid City, Jeanette was born on April 2nd, 1928 to George and Mary Blythe. She lived on the Blythe homestead in the municipality of Elton most of her life attending Turriff and Mount Vernon schools in Forrest. She cared for her aging parents and grandparents until their deaths. For a short time later in her life she worked in the kitchen at the Brandon General Hospital. Jeanette married Stewart Kille in 1988 and enjoyed their companionship until his death in 2001. She loved the family farm, music and travelling. She played the piano for the residents at Central Park Lodge (now known as Valleyview Care Home). She sang with her three sisters in the group, "The Blythe Sisters" on the Co-op Jamboree in the 1960s. She loved to travel by car and tour Canada with Stewart. Jeanette was an excellent cook, well known for her home made angel food cakes and pies. She is survived by her only living sister Anne Chesney of Morden; brother-in-law Alvin Franklin of Brandon; nieces Vonnie Hemminger of Morden and Valerie Stephens of Headingley; nephews Doug Franklin of Kelowna, BC, Donald Franklin (Joe) of Brandon, Kevin Chesney of Abbotsford and Kelly Chesney of Singapore. Jeanette was delighted to have ten great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Stewart in May 2001; sisters Marie Franklin in June 2009; Betty Carnahan in 1995 and her niece Darlene Fuhr in March 2010. Jeanette moved into Valleyview Care Centre in January 2010. Her family would like to thank the caregivers at Valleyview Centre for the wonderful care and comfort given to Jeanette this past year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Valleyview Sunshine Club at Valleyview Care Centre, 3015 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7B 2K2. A private Celebration of Jeanette's life will be held at a later date.
