HAZLEWOOD Lloyd Edward (June 20, 1927 ~ Nov 20, 2010). Lloyd passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at the age of 83 years. Lloyd leaves to mourn his loving wife, June, of 58 years; Brent and Jill Hazlewood; Maureen and Rick Kitson; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lloyd is survived by his sister Olive and brother Raymond. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Jean; brothers Lorne and Earl; and sister Irma. Lloyd lived and farmed in the Chumah district for many years. In 1968, he along with his wife and children moved to reside in Hamiota but he continued to farm until 1985. While farming, Lloyd also worked for Campbell Funeral Home for 25 years. After retiring, he and June travelled to many destinations: England, Hawaii and Alaska to name a few and when at home he spent many enjoyable hours in their garden. In his early years, Lloyd played the violin, belonged to 4-H and played lots of ball. Later he enjoyed singing in the choir as well as curling, golf and pool. And he was always ready for a game of cards. Family was very important to Lloyd and he thoroughly enjoyed any time spent with them. Lloyd enjoyed good health most of his life except for the last few weeks and his passing was a shock to us all. A service to celebrate Lloyds life will be held at the Hamiota United Church, Hamiota, Manitoba on Thursday, November 25th at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Hamiota Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, donations can be made to the Hamiota District Health Centre Foundation, Box 671, Hamiota, Manitoba, R0M 0T0; the Hamiota United Church Memorial Fund, Hamiota, Manitoba, R0M 0T0 or to a charity of ones choice.
