DAVIDSON: Allan Wilton (Al), passed away in the Souris Health Centre Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Oak Lake Manitoba. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Anne, Son Garry (Brenda), and Daughter Alana (Hugh), and his 4 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren. Al joined the army at the age of 23 years. He served three years overseas with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. He was a member of the Souris Elks Lodge and received his 65 year pin this year. After the war he took his Watch Making course in Winnipeg and worked in the jewelry business with his dad. Allan purchased the store and was in business for 40 plus years. Al loved hockey and played many years with the Souris Elks and Big Six hockey. That is were he got the name “Rocket”. He was known for his dry humor and wit. In memory of Al, donations may be made to the Town of Souris Beautification Fund.
