KOLTUSKY: It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Katie Koltusky, on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at her residence in Parkland Home in Erickson, at the age of 92 years. Katie was born in the Flowers School District on June 7, 1918, to Harry and Anna Zurbyk. She married Frank Koltusky in 1935 and they moved to the Lake Audy area where they farmed until 1971. They then took up residence in Elphinstone. In 2002, Katie moved to Erickson Parkland Home where she had made some special friends. Katie had worked for two years at the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home and then for 13 years for Home Care in the Elphinstone area retiring finally at the age of 72 years. Mom was very involved with the Ukrainian Catholic Church Ladies League in Elphinstone for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, a good game of Hola and visiting with her children, grandchildren and friends. Katie was predeceased by her parents; husband Frank, son, David, brothers: Nick and Tony Zurbyk and sister Carrie Waytowich. She is survived by her daughters: Isabelle (Norman) Mymko of Sandy Lake; Linda (Vince) Moyer of Cochrane, Alberta; daughter-in-law Sonia Koltusky of Brandon; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elphinstone. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Father Emil Kardasinec will officiate.
