KISSOCK: Adalene "Dean" Kissock (nee Cole), of Brandon, formerly of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Dean was born August 12, 1934 at Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm with her parents Willard and Lola Cole and older brother Mydren where they raised animals and enjoyed farm life. Growing up in the depression when money was tight, she loved going to dances and having friends in where they played music (fiddle and piano) and sang. Dean attended Strathcona School and later worked as a telephone operator in Gilbert Plains where she met her future husband, Glen. Over the years, Dean volunteered and belonged to numerous organizations including the Riverview Curling Club as a founding member, Glen Lea Golf Course, Telephone Pioneer Partners and Ladies of the Shrine. Dean enjoyed curling and golfing and even shot a hole in one! Other interests included gardening, canning, baking, quilting, crocheting, knitting, sewing and spending time with family and friends. Dean is survived by her daughter Bernice (Larry) Saunders: sons Brian (Lou Ann) and Brent (Steve Renton); grandchildren Kevin (Lyzz) Gudz, Kori (Darryl) Oliver, Jason (Amelia) Kissock and Jenna Kissock; great grandchildren Bryce, Conner and Chase. Predeceased by her husband Glen Kissock; parents Willard and Lola Cole; brother Mydren Cole and sister-in-law Kathleen Cole. The Memorial Service was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Rev. Barbara Jardine officiated. Urn Bearer was Lou Ann Kissock. Honourary Pallbearers were Kevin Gudz, Kori Oliver, Jason Kissock, Jenna Kissock, Marg Brown and Ron Ruckle. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Dean may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Westman Chapter, Unit 5B, 457 9th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 1K2. Expressions of sympathy may be made atwww.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330."We love you and we'll miss you."
