She met the love of her life, Ray, at the age of 22, and with the young soldier from Manitoba, began the next chapter of her life. Jean and Ray were married at Niagara Falls on May 6, 1944 and after short stays in Nova Scotia and British Columbia, they returned to the family farm at Killarney following Ray’s discharge from the armed forces. They farmed and raised a family of seven in the Hullet and Tisdale districts and relocated to Brandon in 1965. Following a move to Carman in 1970, the family returned to Brandon in 1975. At the age of 15, Jean heard the gospel and remained true to God’s word for the rest of her She was a devoted wife and loving mother and one of her greatest joys was having her family around her. Her quick wit and dry sense of humour often left the family scrambling for a comeback or bent over with laughter. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Assiniboine Centre for the care and compassion they showed to mom during her short stay. A special thanks to friends of the family for all of the words of compassion and acts of kindness.
