DEMANSKI: Isabelle Margaret "Sheila" (nee McCurdy) passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, January 21, 2011. Sheila was the youngest child and only daughter of William and Dora McCurdy. In 1944 she married the love of her life, Walter Demanski. They were married for almost 65 years until Walter's passing in August 2009. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm south of Brandon where they raised two sons, Gary and Murray. After almost 30 years of working side by side, morning 'til night, they sold the farm and moved to Brandon. After moving to town they spent every summer working on their beautiful yard which was their pride and joy. They enjoyed going for drives through the country side and going to Saturday night dances at the Legion. After Walter's death, Sheila moved to Victoria Landing where she continued to enjoy all the musical entertainment that was provided. She missed her husband deeply and her one enjoyment and pastime was her afternoon coffee at Tim Horton's. She was treated like family by the staff and loved seeing her old friends and meeting new ones. She often said that this was better than any medicine for her. Sheila was predeceased by her mother and father, Dora and William; her three brothers: William, Robert and Maurice; and by her loving husband, Walter. She leaves to mourn her passing: her sons, Gary (Jean), Murray (Lynda); grandchildren: Janelle (Dave), Jason (Karen), Terry (Lou), Stacey (Adam), Ryan (Shelby); six great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Nellie, Lorraine, Jessie and Dorothy; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Memories Chapel, Brandon Rev. Shannon McCarthy officiating. A private family interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery.
