LELOND: J. Wm (Bill) Lelond passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Birtle Sunnyside Manor Personal Care Home. Born June, 21, 1917 at Arrow River, Bill was predeceased by his wife Sylvia, and his parents Louis and Enid Lelond; and his siblings and their spouses: Stan (Margaret), Doreen (Larry Hunkin) and Marion (Robert Anderson). He is survived by his three children: Maureen, Leonard (Wendy) and Roberta (Brian Hickman), seven grandchildren and two great grandsons, two sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Bill spent over 68 years farming the Lelond homestead at Arrow River. He took pride in his shorthorn cattle. Bill enjoyed a full day’s work caring for family, fields and the farm. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arrow River Cemetery, Arrow River, Manitoba with a memorial service and reception following at 2:30 p.m. in the Arrow River Community Hall. Our family would like to sincerely thank everyone who cared for dad, including the staff at the Birtle Health Centre.
