JUDD: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pearl Elizabeth Eva Judd (Adams) on November 20, 2010. Pearl was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan on December 8, 1930 to William James and Cora Edith Adams. She was the second of six children born to William and Cora. As a young child she moved to Broadview, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm just outside that community. She married Lorne Judd on May 17, 1949 and moved to Brandon the next day to start married life. She resided in Brandon for the rest of her life, except for a three year stint in Winnipeg in the early 1980’s. Pearl had seven children of her own. She was a very caring and loving mother to all of them. She was also blessed with seventeen grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was the time she got to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was fortunate in that she was healthy enough to spend many hours enjoying them and watching them grow. Mom loved her baseball. It was a good thing as with five boys, she spent many hours at the ball diamonds watching them play as kids. When they were older, she turned to fastball and was a fixture at Curren Park watching us play. In later years, she returned to her first love, baseball. She rarely missed a Marlins or Cloverleafs game. She also was a big fan of the Blue Jays and watched their games on TV every chance she got. She was an avid bowler for many years and looked forward to her afternoons at Thunderbird Bowl, bowling in the ladies leagues. It was there that she made many lasting friendships. Unfortunately an aneurism in September of 1993 left her unable to bowl. She dearly missed her time there. However she replaced that passion with mall walking. It was a rare morning she wasn’t at the mall walking with a new group of friends. In her later years mom was blessed to have a group of very close friends who made it a point to go out for dinners together on a regular basis. The honorary pallbearers were: Marg Preston, Elaine Ready, Dorothy Cullen, Jean Johnston, Annette Fifi, Joyce Castle, Alma Yule and Grace Boles. Marg and Elaine were especially close to mom for many years and she was blessed to have them as friends. Pearl was predeceased by her parents William and Cora, her three sisters Joyce, Wilma and Frankie, her brother Bill and her eldest son Ken. Pearl is survived by Lorne, her brother Blaine (Barb), Ken’s children Theresa (Dillin) and Dale (Amber), her children Chris (Carolyn) daughter Pam (Joey), Barry daughters Shauna, Brittany and Tanya, Rick (Judy) daughter Nicole (Derek) and son Jaye, Lance (Fran), daughters Denny (Dan) and Casey, Gaye (Terry) Smith, daughter Lorena and son Mike, and Dawn (Al) Craig sons Logan, Nolan, Devon, and daughters Mykenna and Ceara. She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate her life was held at Memories Chapel on November 24, 2010.
