NICCOLLS, Elna C. Elna died at Kinvillage Care Home in Delta on the evening of March 17, 2011 at the age of 92. Born in Brandon, Manitoba on September 23, 1918, she grew up in Nesbitt and then moved to Brandon. She met my father, Frank Niccolls, a vacuum cleaner salesman and later married him on October 19, 1938. She gave birth to two sons, Barry in 1939 and Boyd in 1941. While Frank went off to serve in the war, Elna took her sons to Brandon to live with her family until her husband came home. After the war she moved her family to Regina, living in two different homes there. Eventually my Dad sold his income tax business in Regina and moved with Elna to Nanaimo where they purchased a trailer and enjoyed the Islands good weather. Also Elna was close to the homes of her brother and two sisters. After Frank passed away in 2000, Mom soon moved to a nursing home in Delta for her final ten years. Elna was predeceased by her parents John and Margaret Brodie, brother Bud Brodie and sister Oriole Breen. She was greatly loved by sons Barry and Boyd and their children. She is survived by sisters Olive Salmond and Hazel Britton and her twin sister Eileen Harris. She will be very sadly missed. A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Nanaimo Alliance Church, 1609 Meredith Road, Nanaimo, B.C. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 1:00 pm followed by a reception, then interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, 2347 Cedar Road, Nanaimo, 1 (250) 722-2244. On-line condolences may be placed at www.deltafuneral.ca Delta Funeral Home (604) 946-6040.
