WILKINSON: It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Scott Wilkinson on Friday, April 8, 2011. Mary was born August 18, 1919 in Victoria, B.C. where she grew up with her mother, father and two sisters. It was in Victoria that Mary met and married her husband, Norm and they began their family. They moved to Brandon, where they lived most of their remaining days. Mary was a wonderful homemaker, who enjoyed working in her yard, caring for her flowers and shrubs and enjoying the outdoors. Mary is survived by; daughter Linda (Bruce) Owen, son Garry (Susan) Wilkinson; grandchildren Lesley (Phil) Allen, Dean Owen, Sara (Brandon) Price and great-grandchildren Austin Burtnack and Thomas Allen. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Norm and sisters Marg and Peggy. Marys Memorial Service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed in the George Brockie Fellowship Centre. Interment will be held at the Brandon Cemetery at a later date, where Mary will be reunited with Norm for eternity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 1R8 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1stStreet, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.
