BLACKSMITH: Reggie Blacksmith (Jim Elk) of Sioux Valley First Nation, beloved husband of Shirley Chaske, passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital, on Tuesday, april 19, 2011 at the age of 80 years. A Traditional Wake will be held at Sioux Valley Veteran’s Memorial Hall on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Sioux Valley Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Reggie may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 8-940 Princess Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 0P6. I would like to know a lil more about my father he came to meet me in October 2010 and stayed for 9 days meeting my family and he was happy to see a lot of friends he knows.
