DITCHFIELD: Violet Blossom Ditchfield (Jones) passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Monday, February 7, 2011. Violet was born November 22, 1918 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent England. She came to Canada with her family when she was two and was raised in Simcoe, Ontario. Violet was predeceased by her husband Robert Ditchfield (1984) and daughter-in-law Pauline Ditchfield (2011). She will be sadly missed by her children Jim of Cold Lake, AB, Wayne (Michaela) of Brandon, Glenn (Vicki) of Winnipeg, Darlene (Alan) of Brandon; her grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Jeff (Sheila), Jason (Tracy), Jennifer (Colin), Ryan (Lisa) and great-grandchildren Ariel, William, Seth, Cassandra, Abigail, and very special friend Norma Benson. Mum's passion was knitting and sewing. She loved to bowl and watch curling. Most of all she loved watching the extracurricular activities of the grandchildren who lived near her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Egan and the staff of Rideau Park Personal Care Home for the special care that they gave to Violet. The Ceremony to Celebrate Violet's life will be held at Trinity United Church on Saturday, May 14, 2011 (today) at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Wayne Sanderson will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Suite 105-386 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R6. or Trinity United Church, 1515-6th St. Brandon, MB, R7A 6B3.
