WALKER: Margaret Evelyn Walker (nee Burton), born in Brandon, Manitoba March 28, 1919, passed peacefully at Red River Place in Selkirk, Manitoba, June 16, 2011. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Lorne and Ethel Burton, husband Frank, sister Mildred, son-in-law Larry, and daughter-in-law Sharon. Left to cherish her memory are her children Lynn (Larry) Wenzoski, Keith (Judy) Walker, Wayne (Astrid) Walker, and Murray (Gladys) Walker, and her grandchildren and great- grandchildren Lori (Monty) Kerr, Terri (Ray) Houdayer (Jordain, Sydnee, Quincy), Todd Wenzoski, David (Alice) Walker (Dorian, Gray), Leslie Walker (Boston, Lucas), Gregg (Elena) Walker (Aniken), Trevor Walker, Stephen Walker, Brad (Andrea) Walker, Lindsay (Lee) Crierie (Emilia), and Jeff (Renae) Walker. Margaret was born and raised in the Brandon Forrest area and married Frank when she was nineteen. They spent many happy years together raising their family and being involved in community activities and weekends at Clear Lake before full retirement, upon which they were able to spend twenty years as snowbirds in Meza Arizona golfing, playing cards, and dancing with their other snowbird friends. Their move to Stonewall in 2000 was followed shortly after by Frank's death, but Margaret continued to enjoy time with new friends in Lion's Manor. Margarets last three years were spent at Red River Place where she received excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 200-310 Broadway Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 0S6 or a charity of your choice. A funeral service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall on Friday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m., the service will conclude at the chapel. Interment will take place on Monday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Garden, Hwy 1A West, Brandon. Following the interment, please join the family at the Brockie Donovan reception area, 332-8th Street for a time of fellowship and lunch.
