DOWN: Noreen Robertson Down (April 7, 1923 – June 22, 2011), passed away peacefully with her sons by her side at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Noreen was predeceased by her husband Leonard in September 1999 and by an infant son, Keith. She leaves behind her three sons: Bill (Bonnie), John (Susan), Bob (Bonnie); grandson Jeff, granddaughters Jamie (Wade), Danielle (Mark), Darla, Robyn (Dave), Kristen (Jesse); great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Nathan, Brooke, Bailee, Hayden; and brother Barry Wallace of Merritt, B.C. Mom enjoyed playing cards and was always up for a game of crib. She took pleasure in beating us, which came pretty easy sometimes. Hobb’s Manor was a great place for Mom – she enjoyed all the activities there, which kept her busy. Special thanks to all of Mom’s friends from Hobb’s who came to visit her, your visits made her day. Thanks to Dr. Meredith and staff at the Assiniboine Centre for all their care and support. The Memorial Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robin Walker of St. Matthew’s Cathedral officiating. Interment will follow at the Rounthwaite Cemetery. Donations in memory of Noreen may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7.
