CWIERTNIA: Janina Jenny Cwiertnia, beloved wife of Teofil Tom, age 86 died on June 30th, 2011 and at Fairview Home, Brandon, after months of ailing health. Jenny was born in 1924 in Belarus. In her mid teens Jenny was taken from her family to work at a labor camp in Austria. Here she met the love of her life who would become her husband and life partner for the next 65 years. After the war Jenny and Tom settled in Poland where they had two children. In 1959 Jenny and her family came to Canada to be reunited with Toms dad. After a short stay in Saskatchewan they moved to Brandon where they lived till now. Jenny worked at Prince Edward Hotel and Brandon University. Jenny loved life and people! Her greatest joys were her family, friends, dancing, singing and gardening. Her faith was an integral part of her life and she was a faithful member of St. Hedwigss Parish for many years. In the last three years Jennys health declined and she was ever so grateful for the care she received from the dedicated staffs of Home Care, Assiniboine Centre, Brandon General Hospital and Fairview Personal Home. Jenny will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Teofil; son, Stan (Terry); daughter, Marie Plaisier (Rick); grandchildren Karlyn Leslie (Chad), Leanne Cwiertnia (Brent), Kent Plaisier (Shalen), Todd Plaisier (Brittanee), Shawn Plaisier (Debra); her great grandchildren: Brendan, Haylee, Landon, Breanna, Tristan, Reed, Ty and Mya (Plaisier). Prayers will be held at Memories Chapel on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant will be Fr. Dominic Yuen. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery.
