FROST: Jennie Belinda "Linda" Rose (nee Olson), formerly of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, July 4, 2011 surrounded by family. Linda was born in Selkirk, MB on June 23, 1930 but grew up in West Kildonan in Winnipeg. She married Fred Frost in 1950 and they raised a family of five, three boys and two girls where they enjoyed many summers at the family cottage in Beaconia. Mom and Dad celebrated 50 years of marital bliss before Dad's passing in 2000, and was an inspiration to us all. Her move to Brandon to be closer to her youngest grandchildren greatly increased the energy in her life. She worked at Eatons for 30 years and then at Bargain Harolds until her retirement in 1991. Mom & Dad enjoyed camping and weekend trips to the States plus one adventure to the Maritimes but her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by family. Dinners were a weekly event in the Frost family with frequent lunches added after Dad's passing. Evening poker games were a favorite pastime of Moms even if we won most of her stash. Linda Frost is survived by her children: Brian, Cheryl (Bruce), Donna (David), Len (Sharon), David (Janice) plus ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Fred; parents, Leonard and Gladys and brother, Len. Cremation has taken place and the family met for a private graveside service at Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery on Friday, July 8. Urn bearers were grandchildren, Curtis Lawson and Roberta Sweeney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB, or the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
