LeBARRON: Emma Mae Le Barron (nee Cheasley) passed away at the Dinsdale Personal Care Home in Brandon on July 9, 2011. Emma was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 24, 1919, and along with her sister, grew up on the family farm north of Alexander. She attended the local country school of Assiniboine to Grade 8, and then attended BCI in Brandon and before completing her schooling in Oak Lake. Her first job was at Barry's Confections in Brandon. She then worked for a bank in Ottawa and held various jobs in Brandon in the hospitality industry. She married Orville LeBarron on December 26, 1941. Orville and Emma moved to Ottawa, before Orville went overseas for four and a half years. They then moved back to Brandon. Emma was involved with Seniors For Seniors and the CPR Pensioners. Emma loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and going for long walks with her walker. Emma is survived by her children: son Tom (Sue) of Comox, BC; son Dan (Janice) of Brandon; daughter Lesley (Howard) Hallett of Canoe, B.C.; son Bob (Patti) of Armstrong, B.C. and daughter Pat of Calgary. There are eleven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Harriet (Geordie) Romaniuk of Riverton, Manitoba and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her husband Orville and his parents Samuel and Ella; her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Cheasley; a sister Lea and husband Darrall Sheridan and one brother-in-law Harry Romeniuk. In keeping with Emma's wishes a private family graveside service was held. The family wishes to convey a special thank you to the wonderful staff on the second floor at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. Donations in memory of Emma may be made to a charity of one's choice.
