HAMILTON-PATTISON:Rebeka Elizabeth Hamilton- Pattison November 8, 1996– July 13, 2011. With deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our beloved darling Rebeka Elizabeth, 14 years old, Wednesday, July 13th at St. Amant in Winnipeg. Rebeka departed this earth peacefully and happily on her own terms ending in a merciful way her courageous struggle with a lifelong illness. She will be sorely missed and cherished forever by her mother Gaylene Hamilton, father Andrew Pattison, big brother Seamus, grandparents Peggy Hamilton, Alan and Gillian Pattison, uncles and aunts Dawn, Lindsay, Blair, Rae Anne, Bruce, Karen, Jaime, Simon, Jill, Philip and Angela, as well as her adoring cousins Kyle, Lauren, Matthew, Gabriella, Liam, Laura, Aidan and Aaron. Other mourning family members include Darrell, Tyler, Braden, Hector, Carlos, Arlene and Richelle. Also grieving Rebeka’s passing are many caregivers, teachers and staff at St. Amant and Wolseley School who looked after Rebeka with deep love and compassion. Over the years Rebeka’s sweet gentle spirit and unique boundless energy touched the lives of other numerous family friends, colleagues and health care staff in Winnipeg and Brandon. Her exuberance, love of life and passion for school, sports and play are fondly remembered by all those who knew her. Rebeka is predeceased by her maternal grandfather Bruce Hamilton. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Stan Lipnowski and the doctors and staff at St. Amant, Children’s Hospital and the Rehabilitation Centre for Children for the excellent care given to Rebeka throughout her lifetime. A memorial service for family, caregivers and friends will be held Wednesday, July 27th at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at St. Amant, 440 River Road, with Father Gilbert Gariepy officiating. A private interment service will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
