BAWTINHIMER: Ronald James Bawtinhimer was born to Frank Bawtinhimer & Ruth (Morrison) Bawtinhimer on November 3, 1941. He passed away May 30, 2011 at the age of 69 at Health Sciences Center, Winnipeg. He grew up on the family farm and was educated in public school in Goodlands. He received his High school Diploma from Deloraine Collegiate. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree & his Bachelor of Education degree from Brandon College. Ron had a permanent Professional Teaching certificate in Alberta & Manitoba. Ron married Heather Gunn in 1963, to this union where born 2 children. He married Marianne Morrell in 1979. Ron was in teaching or in administration in Tilston and Melita, MB, Fort McMurray, AB and Fort Smith, NWT, Olds & Calgary, AB. Ron also spent numerous years teaching in the Artic. He was also in plant training expert on assignment with the I.O.L. of the United Nations in Suriname, South America and Russia. In retirement he spent time in Yuma, AZ and Sylvan Lake, AB. He then returned to Deloraine, where he enjoyed his time at the golf course, or senior center. Left to survive Ron are his children Daryl of Edmonton, AB and Karyne (Scott) Daniels of Yellowknife, NWT. Daryl’s children Morgan and Beni of Edmonton and Karyne’s children Brady & Austin Daniels, Yellowknife. His siblings Marie (Darvin) Engel, McClusky, ND, Bill, Virden & Cheryl Minaudier of Winnipeg. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Marianne. Memorial may be given to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donor’s choice. A special thank you to the Doctors and Staff at Deloraine Hospital & Health Science Center. The staff in both hospitals where truly caring and compassionate. A celebration of Ron’s life will be at Deloraine Legion on Saturday, August 6th from 2-4 pm.
