CARTER: The family of Lynne Carter announces her passing on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Brandon Assiniboine Centre at the age of 64. She was born in Ste. Rose du Lac in 1946 to James and Georgina Carter of Riding Mountain. She went to school in Roskeen and Kelwood High School. She started her career at the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg and later at the Bank of Commerce. She then went on to the Motor Vehicle Branches in Brandon and Dauphin. Her final job was with Assiniboine Community College where she worked for 14 years. She retired in 2003 and then worked casually for a number of years as well as volunteering for many organizations. Lynne enjoyed many activities such as golfing, clogging, line dancing, ceramics and paper tole. She loved her music and going to festivals. To avoid our Manitoba winter, she traveled to Texas for years and later to B.C. Even though her illness was getting the best of her, she made one last trip to B.C., returning in March, 2011. Lynne was very strong willed and independent. She managed very well in her own home until her last week. She had many good friends who were a great help during her illness. She leaves many fond memories for family and friends. Lynne was predeceased by her parents and her brother Terry in 2007. She is survived by her sister Judy and husband Tom Yerex, sister-in-law Carol Carter, her nephews Chad (Charla) Yerex, Warren (Trisha) Yerex, Kevin (Kierstyn) Carter, Daryl (Rhonda) Carter, Donna (Dean) Carter and six great nephews and nieces. Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Monterey Estates Recreation Centre, 40 Mockingbird Drive, Brandon, Manitoba. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Riding Mountain Cemetery, Riding Mountain, Manitoba.Messages of condolencesmay be sent to w.f.h@mts.net.White's Funeral Home Neepawa in care of arrangements.
