LOWE: Jessie J. Lowe was born on December 27, 1911 to F. H.H. (Harry) and Gertrude Lowe at the stone house in Ninette. She attended Minore School, in Lang's Valley. She attended Wawanesa High School for one year and moved to Toronto after grade 10. It was here she took childhood education and during the war she stayed with new mothers and helped take care of the babies when the mothers were alone. Jessie also spent time in Ottawa taking care of different diplomat's babies. Jessie worked for the government for 26 years, ordering supplies for the navy. She had a budget of $5,000,000.00 to disperse. She also wrote up contracts for green uniforms and badges for all the World War 2 forces. Later Jessie moved back to Ninette to take care of her aging Mother. She bought a house there and had a lovely yard of flowers and a vegetable garden.Some of her hobbies included painting, needlework and reading. Jessie also did some traveling to places such as the British Isles, Italy and Spain. Jessie chose to serve God in her youth, and continued walking in faith. It meant more to her all the time even in her declining years. Her love for God, faith in Him, kept her true to him to the very end of her life. In her later years Jessie moved to Lakeview Gardens and then in declining health to Bayside Personal Care Home where she passed away peacefully on July 27, 2011 Jessie is survived by brother Bill Lowe and his daughter Shirley of Westbank, B.C.; niece Joan of Winnipeg, Tracy and Trent; niece Fran Burgess of B.C. Aaron and Dana; nephew Jack Lowe of B.C.; nephew Gordon and Charmaine Lowe of Olathe, Kansas, Mackenzie, Harrison and Wesley. Funeral Service was held at the Ninette Community Hall on July 31, 2011 with interment at Ninette Cemetery Killarney & Boissevain Funeral Home in care of arranagments.
