PEARN: Grace Leone. Grace was born August 6, 1921 and died on July 10, 2011 in her 90th year at the Westman Nursing Home. She wasborn and raised around Elkhorn, Manitoba the oldest daughter of Wilfred and Frances Soder. After completing her high school education in Elkhorn, Grace moved to Morden Manitoba to take her Registered Nurses training. After completing her training she worked in Winnipeg and Virden. Grace married Erle on November 6, 1948, andthey lived on the Pearn farm in the RM of Woodworth in the Blair School District. They were blessed with three children- Keith, Murray & Lois. Grace worked hard on the farm, had a large garden, did lots of preserving and was an excellent cook and baker. Her children and grandchildren remember her for her buns, cookies, cakes, pies and matrimonial cake. Grace was a member of theBlair Busy Bees. In the fall of 1976, Grace and Erle moved to Virden to a new home that Erle built for them. After moving to Virden, Grace continued to garden and bake, but also became active in the Hospital Auxiliary and the UCW of St. Pauls United Church. She was recognized as a life-time member in each of these groups.Grace was predeceased by her husband Erle, her brother Milburn Soder, herbrothers-in-law Fred Sutherland, Cliff Stitt, Roy Pearn, Walter Pearn, George Scott, John Pearn, Ewen Pearn and sisters-in-law Leonie Soder, Pat Scott and Edna Pearn. Grace will be greatly missed by her children Keith (Leanne), Murray (Jill) and Lois (Dave Hunter); grandchildren Rodney (Jennifer), Scott (Teri), Cameron (Katie), Kevin (Lisa), Drew, Katrina (Mark Saseniuk), Lindsay Hunter and Stephanie Hunter, great-grandchildren Brittany, Carlee, Isabella, Ethan and Abby. Grace is survived by her brothers Robert, Murray, Gilbert, sisters Alice Stitt and Ferne Sutherland, sister-in-law Edith as well as many nieces and nephews. Graces funeral service was led by Rev. Jan Van Aertselaer on July 14, 2011 at St. Pauls United Church, interment was at Virden Cemetery. Pallbearers were Graces grandchildren Rodney, Scott, Cameron, Kevin, Drew, Katrina, Lindsay and Stephanie. G. R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. Donations in Graces memory may be made to Virden Health Auxiliary Remembrance Fund or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Virden Hospital, Westman Nursing Home, and G. R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel and to Rev Jan Van Aertselaer for their kindness and professionalism at this difficult time. Many thanks as well to the St Pauls UCW for serving lunch and to the many friends and family who supported us in so many ways. God bless all of you.Remember all the moments that grief cannot destroy
