KERR: Gladys Kerr (nee Saseniuk) passed away on August 18, 2011 at the age of 69, following a long and courageous fight with cancer. Beloved wife of Doug Kerr, and revered mother of Leslie and Tracy Kerr. Gladys leaves behind a wonderfully supportive and warm family. She will be missed by her sisters Jean Dunthorne, Vickie Davidson (Bob), Ronnie Atamanchuk (Nestor), Leona Bosch (Ken), Dianne Saseniuk, and Karen Scouten (Bruce) and her brothers, Alvin (Linda), Billy and Gerry. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernie and Michael. She will be especially missed by her Uncle Michael Sasyniuk and Aunt Elsie and cousin Tedd Griff. The family would like to thank the members of First Christ of Christ Scientist (Ottawa) for their support and prayers. Gladys was a gardener and an artist. Her house was always surrounded by her beautiful flowers and bushes. She loved painting and a number of her paintings hang in family and friends homes. Her last project was making origami earrings to be sold and all proceeds sent to Japan to aid the disaster victims. A Memorial Service to celebrate Gladys’ life will be held at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario on Friday, August 26th, at 2:00 p.m. She will be interred in the National Military Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please contribute to a charity of your choice.
