DUNLOP: Thomas Robert William Dunlop. Surrounded by family, Tom Dunlop passed away peacefully and with dignity on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011, at the Bayside Personal Care Home in Killarney, Manitoba, after a long struggle with Lewy Bodies Disease. Tom was born on the farm in Dunrea, Manitoba, on March 17th, 1935. Tom married Eileen Smith in September, 1955, and farmed successfully on the family farm. He then got into the fertilizer business as a manager for Shur-Gro in Killarney for over 25 years. He also custom combined through the northern U.S. and Canada. Tom was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed curling. Tom was a member of the Killarney Elks #238 for over 47 years. He also enjoyed dancing, playing ball, golf and hockey-an alumnist of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Tom was predeceased by his parents Jim and Edna Dunlop. In March 2000, Eileen Dunlop (Smith) his wife of 45 years passed away after a lengthy illness. “PAPA” will be deeply missed by daughter Karen Dunlop-Saindon (Marc) and son Tracy Dunlop (Chris) and grandchildren Lindsay (Russ), Joel (Ashley), Cory (Andrea), Benjamin, Georgia and one great grandson Oliver. Tom is also survived by sister Mavis Chambers (Ross). In November 2002, Tom married Marilyn Woolsey and resided in Killarney until his passing. They both enjoyed dancing and travelling in the winters, heading south or to British Columbia. Tom will be missed beyond measure by Marilyn and her children Geof Dixon, Marcia Downey, Patty Manning (Bill), Rhonda Dixon. grandchildren Cameron, Jared, Alanna, Chelsea, Brianna, Sonja, Marisa, family and friends. A private family interment shall take place at the Brandon City Cemetery, Brandon, Manitoba. The memorial service to be held at the Killarney United Church, 432 Williams Avenue, Killarney, Manitoba, on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bayside Personal Care Home and Dr. Anton Pio for their gentle and compassionate care.
