MONAGHAN: Sharon Andrea Monaghan (Nee Abrahamson) Surrounded by her children, Sharon passed away on November 4th, 2011 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born on August 12th, 1945, Sharon lived most of her early life in Creighton, Saskatchewan. During her youth, Sharon played baseball and demonstrated a passion for the speech arts and music, a passion she shared readily with others. She received her teaching certificate in 1967 and began her career as an educator in Flin Flon, Manitoba, where she met her husband, Kent. She was a long-time member of the Kinette Clubs within several of the communities in which she lived and, more recently, an active member of the Kiwanis Club ofBrandon. During these years of community service, she was recognized with numerous awards and distinctions. Sharon was highly active in projects intended to support and or improve the lives of youth and the overall community. As an active member of her church parish, she was involved in Grief Recovery as well as the R.C.I.A. Friendly, honest, fun, with a zest for life, thirst for culture, and love of laughter, she was a wonderful friend to many who knew her. Sharon had a willingness to explore, get up and go, and an adventurous spirit. Her knowing smile, dynamic personality and kind and compassionate nature will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
