LYTYWN: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, mom-in-law, grandma, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, Hazel Margery Lytywn, on November 9, 2011. Mom was the eldest daughter of Bert and Reba Laminman. She was born May 1, 1927 in Deloraine and grew up in a family of five: Charlie, Bill, Lloyd and Florence. They farmed in the Brock and Regent districts. Growing up mom was said to be her fathers shadow and acquired much of her knowledge of building, fixing, and repairing things from him. In 1958 mom married our dad, Alex Lytywn and lived in Virden for a short time until they returned to our family farm at Regent. Mom loved the farm - everything from milking cows, raising chickens, turkeys and pigs to gathering and selling eggs (The Egg Lady), gardening and painting anything that needed. She could do all of this while waiting for the combine to fill so she could pick up a load of grain in harvest time - her favorite time of year. There were also A LOT of haircuts and perms given in her kitchen. There was never a task mom would not attempt. During the winter mom loved to curl. It has been told to us often, Hazel never worried about her rink winning, the game was only for fun. With some crazy shot making and absurd game plan, they surely had a lot of fun. Mom cherished her friends, neighbors and their families. She was always happiest when she had the kitchen full of neighbors and as many children as she could fit in our house! They were all so very important to her and even in failing health she would ask about her Regent friends. Rest assured, the coffee pot or whatever you wished was always on at Razzel Dazzels house. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alex, her daughter Karen and son-in-law Murray Combs and their children Lauren (Hazels little girl), Nicolas and Joshua. Her son Dale and daughter-in-law Nikki (Keir) and their children Dyson and Katryna. Her children were her pride and joy - Her love will remain in our hearts forever. Mom will be sadly missed by her sister and best friend Florence Brigden and her husband Gerald and their sons Gord (Robin) and their family and Kevin (Colleen) and their family. Sister-in-law Phyllis Laminman (deceased Nov. 14, 2011) and her family Brenda, Randy, (Jean), Ron (Jen), Bobbi (Rick), and families. Sister-in-law Alice Laminman and her family Linda, Shari (Kelly Lee), Brent (Yolanda) and Darren (Crystal), and families, and Robert (Linda) Laminman and family. Moms nieces and nephews and their families held a very special place in her heart. Mom is also survived by a special cousin Evelyn Pearen and the Kirkwood and Webster families. She will also be missed by Mary Emily Paterson and John Smith who were like family to her. Mom was predeceased by her parents Bert and Reba Laminman, her in-laws John and Gunvor Lytywn and her much loved brothers Charlie, Bill and Lloyd. Mom loved her family, friends and neighbors. She always had a joke or story to tell, a prank to pull, a twinkle in her eye and that wonderful smile we will never forget! She loved life and all it had to offer! A celebration of moms life was held at the Deloraine United Church on November 14, 2011. Interment at the Deloraine Cemetery. Her precious nephews and great-nephews acted as pallbearers. Her nephew Gord Brigden gave a very fitting tribute to mom. Arrangements were made by Wheatland Funeral Services. Donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the Parkinsons Society or own choice.
