KOKORUDZ: Helen Kokorudz, beloved wife of Milton, of Brandon, passed away in the city on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Helen was born at Rossburn, Manitoba on May 11, 1932, one of seven children born to John and Rose Wozney. In her younger years, she taught school and it was at that time she met her future husband, Milton Kokorudz. Helen and Milton were married in Rossburn, Manitoba on October 29, 1952. They farmed in Oakburn and Fisher Branch. After several years of farming, Milton and Helen began operating a store for the Hudson Bay Company in northern Manitoba, then Saskatchewan. They then moved to Brandon, where they operated a convenience store until their retirement. During their years in Brandon, Helen and Milton took great pride in their yard and garden. They were members of the Brandon Horticultural Society. Their yard and garden won numerous prizes and one year their yard won Best Garden in the city. Helen is survived by her husband, Milton, a sister, Hannah Sherman and a brother, Zanon Wozney of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Rose Wozney, a sister, Jean Wozney and by three brothers, Leonard, Ronnie and Tony. Cremation has taken place.
