MOONEY: Daisy Patricia Mooney (nee Peters) Passed away at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home on Sunday February 5, 2012 at the age of 97 years, 10 months & 12 days, after a courageous battle with cancer & Alzheimer’s. Daisy Patricia Mooney (nee Peters) leaves her daughter, Anne (special friend Patrick Kennedy) & grandson John, to cherish her memory. Daisy was predeceased by her parents, husband William (Bill) Mooney, brothers-in-law George Mooney & Bert McLachlan, sisters-in-law Olive Mooney & Elsie McLachlan. Daisy was a hard worker, having worked beside her husband Bill on the family farm & enjoyed hours spent on the tractor, retiring once her grandson was born. She also enjoyed gardening and often shared its bounty with family & friends. She enjoyed both her immediate family & extended family of nieces & nephews. Daisy was a “home-body” and truly appreciated returning home after various trips. She could always be counted on to act as a chaperone or driver on various school activities. A Private Family Celebration of Daisy’s life will be held on Thursday February 9, 2012 in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro. Following the service, friends & extended family members are invited to a reception in the Wawanesa New Horizon Centre, commencing at approx. 3:30 pm, for a time of fellowship & refreshments. Everyone is welcome. Friends that so wish, memorial donations may be made in Daisy’s memory to the Wawanesa & District Memorial Health Centre, Special Equipment Fund, or to the Northfield Community club, c/o Eileen Mooney, Wawanesa MB, or to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, 611 Corydon Avenue, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0P3. The family would like to thank the special caregivers that allowed Daisy to remain on the farm until she needed to move into town-you enabled her to remain in a home that she truly loved. Additional thanks to the Nursing & Support Staff of Wawanesa Personal Care Home for making her stay a memorable one full of happiness & a sense of belonging over the past few years, and for making her final days comfortable & pain free, your compassion is greatly appreciated.Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.willmorchapel.com Jamieson’s Funeral Services, Willmor Chapel, in care of arrangements. 1-204-827-2480.
