JUDD: The death of Robert Lyle Judd of Brandon occurred on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Hillcrest Place with his family by his side. Lyle was born September 13, 1934 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan and raised in Broadview, Saskatchewan with his two sisters Jean and Dorothy. In 1942, Lyle and his family moved to Brandon. After completing high school Lyle furthered his education and became a licensed Electrician in 1954. Lyle was married in November of 1956 to Verna Christie. Together they had four children; Chuck, Brian, Greg and Lori. He worked as a call boy for CP Rail then apprenticed at G.T. Smith and Sons, opening his own business in 1965 with business partner Grant Jamieson. Lyle continued to run Jamieson & Judd Electrical until his retirement in 1991. Lyle kept very busy raising his children and running the business. When not working, Lyle loved to spend time at the family cabin in Sandy Lake. During the summer months Lyle would be found walking, golfing, water skiing, and coaching baseball. Lyle spent many summers at the motocross racetrack circuit. During the winter months Lyle often traveled south for winter vacations, but also enjoyed snowmobiling, watching curling and had travelled to the Brier's in addition to coaching hockey. Lyle was a very talented hockey player and in the early 1950's played for the Brandon Wheat Kings. Lyle was also involved with the Brandon Minor Hockey Association, Brandon Minor Baseball Association and was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks. He made Hillcrest his home on October 29, 2003. Here Lyle enjoyed spending most of his time walking around having short visits with staff and other residents. He was always willing to help fellow residents to and from programs and meals and let staff know when other residents need help. Lyle also enjoys musical entertainment and outings. Left to cherish Lyle's memory are his children Chuck (Judy), Brian (Leanne), Greg (Christine) and Lori Grebinski (Allen); grandchildren Lindsay (Darcy), Kerri, Alecia (Mike), Britney (Kyle), Tyler, Kody, Stephanie, Dustin and Dawson; great-grandchildren Jadyne, Jayce and Quin. He will also be remembered by his sisters Jean Johnson and Dorothy Cullen and their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews and Verna, the mother of their children. He was predeceased by his father Robert in 1973 and his mother Myrtle in 1998. The Ceremony to Celebrate Lyle's Life was held at Central United Church, 327 - 8th Street on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Joe Ball officiated. All in attendance were considered honourary pallbearers. Interment took place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
